Engage
In a tough economic time, many people retreat into their own fears, and individual business concerns which is a very lonely place to be. This isolation can lead to myopic decisions that make a bad situation worse. A tough economy is the perfect time to engage more than you ever have before... engage with your employees, your clients, your peers, your industry groups, and your business networks.
By gettting out of your "own little world" you find that things are not always as bad as you thought, people have creative ideas for how to deal with the problems facing your business, and that you are not alone in your plight. I am sure that you have heard the saying that, "in chaos there is opportunity" and it is true. As the business landscape changes, you might find folks who have a new use for your product or services, an employee who was just waiting for this time to shine, or you might even find out how entrepreneurial YOU can be! Engaging in a tough time is the right course of action for making it through a difficult economy, but I find that it is quite fun even in the good times too! ...but I bet you already guessed that!
ENGAGE TODAY! Make a new friend, calm the fears of an employee, and create a new opportunity for tomorrow!
