FOCUS
As business becomes more demanding, technology puts more decisions at our fingertips, and the economy (and the moves to correct it) become more baffling, it is critical that we focus on what we can control, affect, or change. There are many things that may be beyond us, but what are those things that will make the biggest difference in your business and/or your life? Do you know what those things are? If you can determine those few things, and then focus on them, positive results are not far away.
Have you ever had one of those days where you worked really hard but when you got home you couldn’t remember a single thing you did all day? Sometimes we get caught up in doing a bunch of “stuff” (?highly technical term) that doesn’t really matter, and never get to the real things that could help us progress. Like sorting my business cards rather than calling someone, or rearranging the stock room when I should be out selling the stock! Sometimes we confuse activity with accomplishment and it can rob us of our time, and will ultimately paralyze us with activities, which keep us from true accomplishment. The cure?...FOCUS!
So, today I am going to choose the top three things that need to be accomplished, and I refuse to lose focus on getting them done, or at least moved toward completion! I can’t solve everything today, and I can only work 23 hours before I crash, but I have to decide…what will make the biggest difference in my success today?…as a businessperson, a husband, a father, and then focus like a laser beam on just those things…and guess what? I just checked off writing my blog! Amazing what a little focus will do….
